CAPRI...

On the train...again

We were up early and on the train, having to  backtrack a bit to go to Capri, my son and I are both prone to sea sickness had some concerns but all unwarranted as we boarded the small ferry and made the very short trip without any problems.

We landed on the island and started to climb a road into the town, but could not really be sure we were going the right way ( via Rick Steves book) so we went back to the beach area and were immediately approached by the boat tour people.

I have to say I was intrigued by the intense bronze color of tans these Italians have. I had a hard time not looking (too long) The man who got us to come aboard possessed one of these tans. He gave us a "deal" one hour 15 euros and it is a "new boat"!! We got roped into it, but it was worth it. The ride was very smooth and refreshing and the beauty was undeniably remarkable. I was obsessed with the ultra blueness of the water. Again we were part of a post card.

Unbelievable blue water

After that we went to the beach that was not sandy, but rocky like river rock. The kids swam and I
went into the village where I witnessed an Italian mom and daughter ( I think) having a very loud argument, mostly the daughter. I also came upon many people gathered around a man that had fallen and had bumped his head. He apparently was ok.

I bought some provolone and bread for our dinner and we headed back on the ferry.
We ate left over pizza and had olives, provolone and bread for dinner.
Natalie wanted to do laundry as she had been traveling for weeks and Alejandro's apt had a washing machine complete with rack to hang them out on the deck. We stopped at a little store that sold soap and detergent and other sundries, and tried to decipher which detergent would be for both whites and color clothes. Bianco and colores is what the label said. She washed everything in it and apparently it was mostly for bianco as several of her clothes got bleached. Oops.
Awake and out the door  the next morning by 7 am and off to Rome.
